Preview: Pyramid Atlantic Celebrates 30 Years

Local nonprofit celebrates with a birthday bash open to public and the first 100 people to arrive will receive a goody bag courtesy of Plaza Artist Materials.

Raffles for ski and snowboard packages, ice cream and restaurant certificates are a just a few freebies to expect from Silver Spring nonprofit Pyramid Atlantic's birthday bash. The event will also host D.C. based band Sonic Circuits to entertain the crowd in their facilities located on 8230 Georgia Avenue on Saturday, April 9th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.  

Since the nonprofit hit the scene in 1981, they have worked with budding artists, published print and artist book editions along with curating exhibitions locally and around the world. 

Head of Development Management Catherine Aselford is a part of the team that helps raise money to fund the company and said she enjoys the work that she does. She added that the group is participating in community engagement in private and public schools such as the Silver Spring International Middle School.

"It's a innovative way of enhancing litearcy through the visual arts," said Aselford.
