Primary Elections, Apparent Accidental Baby Death and Senior Olympics

If you missed the news this week in Silver Spring, no worries we cover it all here.

This week, the news was dominated by the primary elections, Health and Fitness Expo, sports highlights and pet events.  

1. 2. Taking care of your health must be top priority if you want to be around for a while. Ok, to at least see 90. Read about the different health food companies and organizations that came out to educate the Silver Spring community. While I was there I stopped to get my blood pressure taken and the nurse gave me the thumbs up. That extra assurance was comforting to me...Health & Fitness Expo Educates Community.

3.  Now I don't know about you but this is one cute puppy and at the pooch pool party there were even more cute little dogs. They just make my heart melt. Summer is winding down so many recreation centers are closing their pools but before doing so they are throwing pooch pool parties. This year the pooch dress attire was orange vest and nothing less. 4.  In sports, The Blair Blazers step up their game this time and  scored two touchdowns in the final six minutes to defeat Wheaton. Also, Who said grandpa can't play in the Olympics? Not us...Senior Olympics Hit Silver Spring: A Q&A With Executive Director.

5. Sadly a baby accidentally died in Silver Spring last week. Earlier that day the initial investigation by Montgomery County detectives found that the baby boy was laid to rest for a nap but some how got out of the bed and entangled in drapery cord.
