Silver Spring Fugitive Arrested For Murder After 9 Years

A Silver Spring murder suspect on the run for over nine years was arrested this week, police announced.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Silver Spring murder suspect on the run for nine-and-a-half years was arrested Wednesday, police announced.

Mason Binion, 30, is the second suspect D.C. police arrested for a fatal shooting in June 2008. Binion is accused of killing Michael Francis Taylor, 21, of Silver Spring.

The shooting occurred in the 600 block of Farragut St. NW on Sunday, June 22, 2008. Police located Taylor unconscious from a gunshot wound at about 7:45 a.m. and pronounced him dead on the scene.

Police arrested a 27-year-old man for the death in November 2015. The unidentified suspect was charged with First Degree Murder While Armed.

Members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Binion pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant. He is charged with First Degree Murder While Armed, police said.
