Silver Spring Man Arrested For Stabbing, Robbery: Police

A Silver Spring man was arrested for armed robbery, assault and more for an incident that occurred in Takoma Park.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A Silver Spring man was arrested on a slew of charges including armed robbery, assault and more for a stabbing that occurred in Takoma Park, police said.

Vernon Robb Wynter, 37, is accused of an assault/robbery in the 900 block of East West Highway July 19. Officers responded to the area at around 5:50 p.m. and located the victim who had been robbed and stabbed in his arm, police said.

Video footage of the events that unfolded prior to the incident were obtained by Takoma Park Police, and detectives established Wynter as the suspect. The weapon used was also retrieved by police in the 6900 block of New Hampshire Ave., police said.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Wynter. Wynter responded to the police station on Sept. 12 due to the outstanding warrant, police said. He was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit without incident.

Wynter was charged with armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault and possession of a concealed dangerous weapon.
