Silver Spring McDonald's Robbed At Knifepoint, MOCO Police Say

A man cut the line of a Colesville Road McDonald's, pulled out a knife, and demanded money from the register, MOCO Police said.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A customer waiting in line at a McDonald's on Colesville Road "became irate" and cut the line, pulling out a knife and demanding money from the cash register, Montgomery County Police said in a news release.

The cashier ran to the kitchen and the man pulled out the cash register box and pried it open with his knife, according to authorities. Police did not say how much money was stolen from the register.

Authorities posted surveillance footage of the suspect and are asking that anyone with information call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or 240-773-TIPS, or contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).

There could be a reward of up to $10,000 for anyone with information that leads to an arrest, police said.
