The station was originally used as a location for officers to file reports, but with today’s technology officers can do this type of work from their cruisers.
However, this change won't have a negative impact on the officers in the Silver Spring area, according to Montgomery County Police spokesman Captain Paul Starks.
"It will not impact the number of officers patrolling [the Silver Spring] area. There will not be any changes, " Starks said.
