Silver Spring Woman Wins $100K In Maryland Lottery
The lucky winner plans to use the money to pay off student loans.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A Silver Spring woman won the $100,000 top prize in the Maryland Lottery and plans to pay off her and her children's student loans.
The 42-year-old was traveling home from work when she decided to make a stop at Georgia Market in Silver Spring. The Lottery retailer is one of her favorite spots to buy scratch-offs, she said. She chose the $10 Big Money Bingo instant ticket and a $2 game called $100 Frenzy.
“The guy looked at me and said, ‘Looks like a big prize, you’ll have to go to the Lottery building to claim your prize,'" the woman said. "When he said that, I went home and scratched the rest of the ticket. When I saw how much I won, I said to myself, ‘Whoa, is this for real?’"
