Students at Dr. Charles Drew Elementary in Silver Spring were just one of several groups in Montgomery County to participate in International Walk to School Day on Oct. 4.  Parents, students and teachers at Drew were joined by Fire Chief Richard Bowers, who led the assembly of hundreds from Good Hope Community Center to the school, and Councilmembers Valerie Ervin (D-Dist 5), Craig Rice (D-Dist 2) and Hans Riemer (D-At Large).  The event encourages pedestrian safety and physical exercise.
