Woman Struck, Killed By Car In Silver Spring: Police

SILVER SPRING, MD — A woman was struck and killed while walking on New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring late Thursday night, Montgomery County Police said.

The incident occurred at about 11:19 p.m. at New Hampshire Avenue at Oakview Drive.

Investigation reveals a woman was crossing northbound when she was struck by a white, 2005 Ford Mustang. The driver was identified as Hafiz Ajaga Usongo Mbang, 22, of White Oak, police said.

The female pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at the scene, police said.

Mbang remained on the scene.

The pedestrian will be identified once family has been notified.
