No Kamenetz Endorsement for Mayor

Rawlings-Blake never asked for one. Spokesman says the two executives have a good working relationship on regional issues.

Early voting is in full swing this week and it appears as if Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake won't be getting an endorsement from Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.

On Monday, Don Mohler, Kamenetz's chief of staff, said the endorsement was not likely and said again that it didn't mean there were issues.

"(Kamenetz) wasn't asked for an endorsement, but obviously he supports the Mayor," Mohler wrote in an email response. "They have a good relationship and work closely together on regional issues. In fact, they were together recently at the ."

Rawlings-Blake, who has close ties to Gov. Martin O'Malley, is running against Republican Alfred Griffin in the Nov. 8 General Election. It's not expected to be a close contest.

Unlike the primary election, Rawlings-Blake hasn't been running a lot of (any) commercials and no one suggests she is remotely in danger.

Kamenetz didn't endorse Rawlings-Blake in the primary. Mohler down played the issue saying the Baltimore County executive was engaged in issues in the county, but hinted that there was time for an endorsement at a later date.
