A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. I will cosponsor, with Planning Board representative Paul Hartman, two meetings to outline how the rezoning process works in Baltimore County. The first will be held on Monday, August 5th at 7:30 p.m. at Pickersgill retirement community, 615 Chestnut Avenue, in Towson. The second will be held on Thursday, August 8th at 7:30 p.m. at the Perry Hall library, 9685 Honeygo Boulevard. The Comprehensive Zoning Map Process begins this fall and culminates in the summer of 2020. During this process, propertyowners and other parties can submit requests to change the zoning of land in Baltimore County. Zoning affects the use and development potential of property. The speakers not discuss specific issues, but only the process generally. Please RSVP to council5@baltimorecountymd.gov.
