14 MA Events Happening This Week

MASSACHUSETTS — Are you saving your nights outside of the house for the weekend? In Massachusetts, that can often mean missing out on a bevy of great concerts, art exhibits and other events across the state.

In Patch's latest weekly column, we focus on the events happening throughout the week in the Boston area and beyond.

This week, Mustafa, the acclaimed Toronto-artist who blends gritty street tales with traditional folk sounds, will play Somerville. His latest album, "Dunya", was released in 2024 as his debut, coming on the heels of 2021's "When Smoke Rises", a tribute to his friend and Halal Gang peer Smoke Dawg, who was killed amid a rising rap career in a 2018 shooting.

Mustafa, also an accomplished poet, shares stories of hurt and healing — or at least the attempt to heal — while discussing topics including home, place, belonging and religion.
