After Small Town Success, IL Restaurant Hopes To Expand To Major Markets — Boston Included
Bread & Vine is a restaurant in a quaint town of about 3,000 people. Can the concept scale to major cities?
BOSTON, MA — Eric Bonnetain is a French restaurateur who found success for his recent venture, Bread & Vine, in Galena, Illinois.
Galena is a small, quaint town of just over 3,000 people. That isn't stopping Bonnetain was trying to take his dining concept to major markets.
In a news release, Bread & Vine officials announced they'd be franchising with the hope of opening three new locations, including one in Boston. Openings in Tampa, Florida and Geneva, Illinois, are slated for the fall.

“Bread & Vine was built to bring people together over exceptional food in a relaxed, welcoming space,” said Bonnetain. “We’ve proven the model works in a small town – now we’re ready to share it with bigger markets across the country.”
That food includes a variety of options from croissants and macarons to ramen and Cuban sandwiches.
