Christmas Day Powerball Jackpot Reaches $400 Million

MASSACHUSETTS — After there were no winners in Wednesday night's Powerball drawing, the Powerball jackpot on Christmas Day has reached $400 million, the Massachusetts Lottery said Thursday.

The cash option prize is said to be estimated at $292 million.

Powerball tickets are $2 each and can be purchased until 9:50 p.m. on Saturday at Mass Lottery retailers across the state.

The last Powerball jackpot was hit on Oct. 4, totaling a $699.8 million prize to a ticket sold in California.

The jackpot for Saturday's Megabucks Doubler drawing is said to be an estimated $6.2 million.

All lottery claim centers will be closing at 2 p.m. Friday, December 24, and Friday, December 31.

The next drawing is at 10:59 p.m. Saturday.
