Earthquake Rattles Homes Across MA
An earthquake could be felt throughout the Bay State as houses rattled and nerves were shook.

MASSACHUSETTS — A 3.8-magnitude earthquake centered about five miles off the coast of York, Maine shook houses and rattled nerves across Massachusetts on Monday morning.

The earthquake was originally reported at 4.1 magnitude soon revised to 3.8, according to the United States Geological Survey.
A map from the USGS showed the quake could be felt as far north as Augusta, Maine and Montpelier, Vermont, as far west as the Berkshires and as far south as Newport, Rhode Island and Martha's Vineyard.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency late Monday morning.
The USGS "Did You Feel It?" indicated residents in southern Maine, coastal New Hampshire and northeastern Massachusetts reported feeling the rattling as a moderate earthquake with most of eastern New England reporting light or very light impact.
The time of the earthquake was reported as 10:22 a.m. with a depth of 13.2 kilometers.
The U.S. Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami threat in the wake of the quake.
