MASSACHUSETTS — It isn't so much a question of what there is to do in the Boston area and beyond, but rather, what should locals do?

Welcome to Patch's latest weekly roundup of highlight-worthy events across the city and surrounding areas. We've compiled them into one, easy-to-follow list, for your weekend planning.

This week marks the opening of the Boston Harbor Islands, and locals can hop on a ferry to take a free trip to Spectacle Island.

The free ferries run on both Saturday and Sunday, with tickets available at the Boston Harbor City Cruises Ferry Center at Long Wharf North starting at 8 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

The ferries to the island are at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and depart the island at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Special Event Train For Post Malone

Post Malone will play Gillette Stadium on May 31, and tickets for the special event train to the show go on sale today at 11 a.m.

Round-trip special event train tickets are $20 and will be available for purchase exclusively via the mTicket app.

Tickets for each special event train will be sold separately and need to be purchased for the correct corresponding station of origin, which, for this show, are Boston or Providence.
