Landmark Eatery Closing After 60 Years + Hoops Hall Losing Burger Bar: MA Food Week

This week, we learned that a popular burger bar will close three locations, including one at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.

A landmark drive-in also announced it would close after six decades in business.

The Star Drive-In has announced that it will officially close its doors, according to a social media post. The restaurant's owner has stated that the restaurant, which opened in 1964, will shut down at the end of its lease in March 2026.

"It is with a very heavy heart that I need to address the rumors that are out there," wrote Erika Madden, The Star Drive-In's owner.
