Isolated Severe Storms In MA A Threat On Monday

Thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and nighttime hours, especially west of I-495, according to forecasts.

MASSACHUSETTS — The state is in for more wet weather Monday, with "strong to severe" storms possible across the state this afternoon and evening.

All of Massachusetts is under a "marginal risk" of strong thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. The storms may bring strong winds, heavy rain and hail to parts of the state.

The greatest risk for storms will be west of I-495, and during the afternoon and nighttime hours, according to the weather service.

Monday's storms will be part of a longer pattern of rain this week. Rain showers are in the forecast every day until some partial clearing on Friday, according to forecasts. High temperatures will remain near 80 in the area between Boston and Worcester all week, with slightly cooler temperatures on Cape Cod.
