MA Tragedy: Toddler Drowns In Swimming Pool

WOBURN, MA — Tragedy struck in Woburn after a missing 3-year-old boy was found drowned in a swimming pool late Tuesday night. Authorities said police found the boy in the backyard of a home, submerged in an uncovered pool partially filled with dirty water and leaves. An investigation into how the boy ended up in the pool was ongoing. Read more.


In Yarmouth, thousands attended the funeral of fallen police officer Sean Gannon Wednesday. Gannon, 32, was shot and killed while searching for a career criminal in Barnstable last week. Hundreds of law enforcement officers from Massachusetts and beyond attended the funeral. Gannon was remembered as a model officer. He left behind a wife. Read more.

On Beacon Hill, some lawmakers are calling for the reinstatement of the death penalty following Gannon's killing. The death penalty was banned in Massachusetts in 1984. Governor Charlie Baker said he supports the death penalty for those who murder police officers. Read more.
