MA Woman Found Guilty Of Raping Former Foster Child, DA Says

The victim was 12 years old.

CHARLTON, MA — A Charlton woman was found guilty of raping a child under her care at Worcester County Superior Court on Monday.

The rape happened in 2015 while Heather Wright-Craft, 52, was fostering the victim, who was 12 years old, according to the Worcester County District Attorney. The woman was arrested and charged in August 2017.

After the jury's verdict was delivered, her bail was revoked and she was taken into custody, the DA said.

Wright-Craft was found guilty on one count of rape of a child, aggravated by age difference, and one count of rape of a child, aggravated by being a mandated reporter. The jury also found her not guilty on one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
