More Than 65K Without Power In MA Due To Strong Winds
A Friday storm brought heavy rains and gusts of wind to the Bay State.
MASSACHUSETTS — Tens of thousands of customers in Massachusetts were without power on Friday afternoon.
More than 65,000 were without power after 1 p.m. on Friday, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency map. That's after a mid-day storm brought heavy rains and strong winds.

Reports of downed trees and wires are widespread throughout the Bay State as wind gusts range from 55 to 65 mph, especially in coastal areas such as Cape Cod and the islands.
NWS officials said the winds will peak in the late morning into the early afternoon.

As the afternoon turns to evening, forecasters expect those wind gusts to bring much colder air to much of the state, bringing more seasonally typical temperatures to the area.
