Snowy Blast, Deep Freeze To Hit MA With Winter Wallop
Some areas of eastern Massachusetts could get up to 3 inches of snow Friday before a frigid weekend ahead.

MASSACHUSETTS — A blast of snow could set the scene for a very frigid and wintry final weekend before Christmas across Massachusetts.
After a pleasant few recent days with highs in the 50s, and a seasonable and sunny day on Thursday, that will all change Friday afternoon when a cold front and effects of an offshore storm combine to bring some snow showers to the state with the chance of up to 3 inches of snow in isolated areas where a coastal front sets up late in the afternoon.
What will follow will be a true taste of winter with a strong northwest wind and very cold temperatures through the start of the holiday week. That could mean a rare white Christmas for communities that do get measurable snow on Friday because there will be minimal melting over the next week.
