Sub-Freezing Temperatures In MA Coming This Week: Forecast
Parts of the state will see temperatures in the 20s for the first time in many months.
MASSACHUSETTS — If you've resisted turning on the heat this far, you might have to give in this week.
Temperatures will drop into the 20s across many parts of the state overnight Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
"[T]emperatures towards daybreak Thursday should be the lowest we have seen so far this season. Much of southern New England away from the immediate coast expected to be below freezing," the weather service said in a forecast Tuesday.

Temperatures will drop to around 32 across in many parts of the state Halloween night into Wednesday morning. Temperatures will struggle to get close to 50 on Wednesday in many areas ahead of a drop into the high 20s heading into Thursday morning.
Worcester County and parts of Middlesex County west of I-95 have the highest chance of temperatures in the 20s. Coastal communities including Boston will be at or above 30. The Cape will be almost balmy, however, with temperatures in the higher 30s, according to the forecast.

But the cold won't stick around long. Temperatures will warm back up on Friday and over the weekend with highs near 60 in some places, according to the forecast.
