Big Swing In MA Temperates After Warm Start
Massachusetts may see the warmest temperatures of 2024 so far. Enjoy it while it lasts.

MASSACHUSETTS — Enjoy Monday's warmth while it lasts.
Temperatures on Monday will rise into the 70s in most areas away from the coast, the warmest day of the year so far in 2024 — and about the warmest it will be for a while anywhere in the state.
Temperatures will reach the 70s west of Boston on Monday, with 80s possible in the Connecticut River Valley. Coastal areas will stay cooler, with temperatures in the 60s in the Boston area, but only the high 50s on the outer Cape.

By Tuesday, temperatures will swing by as much as 15 degrees in some places. The high in Worcester on Tuesday will be about 60, a full 14 degrees lower than what's expected Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday will be the coolest days of the week before another warm-up on Thursday and Friday. But temperatures in the high 60s in the central part of the state will be matched by cooler temperatures along the coast on those days.
Forecasters are also on the watch for rain showers, with the highest chance for daytime rain on Wednesday.

" [A] surface low moving from the mid-Atlantic passing south of the region will bring a round of showers moving in on Tuesday night and continuing through at least Wednesday morning; there is a low probability that showers continue well into the evening before weak ridging moves in and things dry out a bit," the National Weather Service said in a forecast Monday.
