Winter Weather Hitting MA, But Major Snow Still Elusive
Freezing rain and some light snow will make for tough roads, but the state is still several inches below how much snow it usually gets.
Snow has been in short supply this winter season, and that's likely to remain the case despite some inclement weather inbound.
A winter weather advisory has been issued west of Boston as the dreaded wintry mix descends upon the region. The advisory will be in effect from 7 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Forecasters are calling for light snow and a freezing rain overnight into the morning, possibly making for a treacherous commute. The freezing rain could accumulate up to a tenth of an inch, and there shouldn't be measurable snow.

That's no surprise for Massachusetts, which has seen the possibility of snow melt away in recent weeks as temperatures struggle to break past freezing.
The National Weather Service said Boston's average snowfall at this point is about 7.9 inches, but the city has only seen less than a half-inch so far. The average snowfall in Worcester is about 15.2 inches at this point, but there's only been 3.8 inches — nearly a foot shy of the usual output.
