Acton-Boxborough Seniors Share Internship Experiences with Peers

A total of 53 students completed the annual internship program, which allows students work experience outside the classroom.

Acton-Boxborough Regional High School held celebration of this year's senior interns on May 30. This event was the final event of the Senior Internship Program and it was an opportunity for this year's interns, 53 seniors, to share their experiences with staff and A-B administration members.

The Senior Internship Program is an opportunity to have an in-depth experience in a career or special interest in the public, private, or non-profit business sectors. Seniors who are accepted into the program will spent the last three weeks of the school year focusing on a particular career, while completing various program requirements. The internship provides a practical work experience and an opportunity to experience first hand a look at a career field of their choice. Participation in the program is considered a privilege, and interns are expected to represent the high school in a positive light.

This year, interns received experience at hospitals, schools, engineering firms, physical therapy offices and the Town of Acton Natural Resources department.
