"I am excited to have the opportunity to serve our students, families, and town in this new role," Cook said. "I am deeply grateful to everyone who expressed confidence in my candidacy by voting for me, showing their support, and providing their thoughts about the important issues facing our schools. I will not let you down."

Cook, a former teacher and the mother of two sons who attend McCarthy-Towne Elementary School, had never run for elected office before. Cook served on the Acton-Boxborough Superintendent Search Screening Committee in 2018, and currently serves on the Superintendent’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Group.
