Kayaker in Distress, Domestic Violence and More From the Acton Police Log

The following information was supplied by the Acton Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

The following was reported by the Acton Police Department on June 8:

  • A Parker Street resident reported a problem she had with her neighbor on June 7. It was a civil issue regarding a noisy child. An officer spoke with the other party.
  • A Piper Road resident reported a possible rabid raccoon in the yard of a house at the corner of Piper and Brucewood. Responding officer reported the animal was not aggressive and just lying in the yard near the garage. The raccoon was put down.
  • A Concord Road resident reported seeing a sicker fisher cat walking along the road. Responding officer was unable to locate the animal.
  • Emergency personnel responded to Powdermill Road for a kayaker hanging on to a branch in the middle of the river. The kayaker made it to land prior to the arrival of the Acton Fire Department. The kayaker was treated at the scene but refused medical transport. The kayaker left the area with a friend.
  • A Minot Avenue resident reported seeing a sick wild cat. The animal was disposed of.
  • Emergency personnel responded to Flintlock Drive for a domestic violence call. A caller reported a female was disoriented and injured. The female was taken to Emerson Hospital.
  • A Newtown Road resident reported his babysitter saw a suspicious person in the backyard who may have attempted to open the basement door.
