Prisoners Assault Guards At Max Security Prison: Video

The state's maximum-security prison in Shirley went on lockdown after prisoners assaulted a guard.

SHIRLEY, MA – The Massachusetts Department of Corrections released a video showing the attack of a prison guard in the Shirley state maximum security prison that prompted a lockdown.

Saturday the prison was still under lockdown, according to Statehouse media.

Around 10:45 a.m. one of the prisoners who appeared to be talking to a security officer in the common space throws a punch at the man. Immediately after that, several other inmates swarm the guard and kick and punch him. He manages to radio for help and seconds later two other guards race into the room, fending off punches from other inmates to stand with the first guard.
