South Acton Weekend Train Service Still Suspended
Normal weekend service will be available on the Fourth of July.

Residents who take the commuter rail will again be without its service this weekend service as the line from Fitchburg to South Acton continues to be suspended on weekends through Nov. 17.
These “no service” weekends will be extended from Fitchburg to Brandies station beginning in August through to Nov. 17.
Joe Nolan of City Point Partners says no alternate bus service will be provided during these weekends so the line will truly be shut down between those stations for these weekend outages.

Train service will be terminating at the existing South Acton station and will not terminate at the old platform south of Main Street.
"We apologize for any inconvenience these service suspensions may cause," Nolan said. "Customers can look forward to significant service improvements once this improvement project is completed."

Throughout the months of June through November, the MBTA will perform the first phase of construction of major improvements on the Fitchburg line. This three-year improvement project will improve track, signals, bridges, and stations to reduce trip time and increase service reliability.
"Normal weekend service will operate on the Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving weekends," Nolan said.
Weekend train service only will terminate and originate at South Acton until July 28 to allow work to be performed between South Acton and Fitchburg.
Weekend train service only will terminate and originate at Brandeis/Roberts from Aug. 3 to Nov. 17 to allow work to be performed between Brandeis/Roberts and Fitchburg.
