As Virtual Meetings Increase, Acton Looks For Zoom Coordinator
As coronavirus restrictions push more town meetings online, Acton is looking for someone to set up those meetings.
ACTON, MA — Coronavirus restrictions have pushed most, if not all, municipal meetings online. Acton is trying to ease the burden of the setup of those meetings and Zoom calls and is hiring a virtual meeting organizer.
The part-time position is funded by the federal CARES Act. The job calls for about 10 to 15 hours of work a week, with the possibility of weekend work, but most likely Monday through Friday hours. The pay is $24.51 an hour.
The job includes not only setting up Zoom templates and presentations on other virtual meeting platforms, but troubleshooting technical meeting problems and making sure no "malicious actors" sneak onto the calls. The job also entails coordinating multi-media interaction between local public access television and town operated radio station.
