Andover Coronavirus Stats: Cases, Positive Rate Keep Rising

The town's two-week average positive test rate remains above the state average, according to the latest Department of Public Health report.

ANDOVER, MA — Andover's positive coronavirus test rate remains above the state average and rising, according to the latest municipal-level data released by the Department of Public Health Thursday.

Over the last two weeks, 6.37 percent of Andover tests were positive, above the statewide rate of 4.97 percent over the same period.

The town had 255 cases in the last two weeks, or 50.5 daily cases per 100,000 residents.

Both the positive rate and the case total increased from last week's report.

The state also reported that Andover reached 77.1 percent fully vaccinated, up from 75.8 percent in last week's report. Over 86 percent of residents have been at least partially vaccinated.

From Dec. 2 to Dec. 8, 48 percent of the town's coronavirus cases were among unvaccinated residents, who make up less than a quarter of the population.
