Andover High Students Stage Walk Out After Texas Shooting
On Thursday, students staged a walkout to protest gun violence, which is the leading cause of death for American teens.

ANDOVER, MA — Several students at Andover High School held a walkout Thursday at noon protesting gun violence.
"Last evening, we received requests from students to hold a demonstration as part of a national walkout in response to the events in Uvalde, Texas, earlier this week," said Andover High School Principal Caitlin Brown. "We have worked closely with these students and have notified the superintendent and Andover Police department to ensure the safety of our students during this time."
The walkout may have been part of the nationwide protest campaign organized by Students Demand Action. According to the organization's website, which encouraged students to walk out on Thursday, the protests signify collective grievance with the Ulvade community and demand lawmakers enact stricter gun control laws.
