Andover Offers Reminders About Places To Warm Up During Extreme Cold

Memorial Hall Library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The Robb Center is open until 4 p.m. Friday, but closed Saturday.

ANDOVER, MA — With a wind chill warning in effect from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon, the Town of Andover is reminding locals about places they can go to stay warm.

The Memorial Hall Library, located at 2 N Main St., is open during regular business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Robb Senior Center, located at 30 Whittier Ct. is open until 4 p.m. on Friday, though it will be closed on Saturday.

On Thursday, Andover Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Magda Parvey posted a letter on social media urging parents to ensure their children have rides to and from school on Friday.

According to AccuWeather, at 1 p.m. Friday, the temperature in Andover is expected to be 17 degrees, though it will feel like minus 3 degrees. By 3 p.m., the temperature is expected to drop to 14 degrees and feel like minus 8 degrees. The temperature will feel like minus 20 degrees a 4 p.m.

Temperatures then will continue to fall throughout the evening. By 11 p.m., the temperature is expected to be minus 9 degrees and feel like minus 41 degrees.

The subzero temperatures are expected to last until 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Though the wind chill will make the temperature feel subzero until 7 p.m. Saturday night.
