Andover Schools Pick 2 Interim Superintendent Finalists
The School Committee will publicly interview the two picks, Claudia Bach and Kathleen Alward Smith, on Thursday.

ANDOVER, MA — The Andover School Committee has two finalists for the interim superintendent position which will open when Superintendent Sheldon Berman departs at the end of the month, Committee Chair Shannon Scully said.
School and town employees considered applications from 14 candidates and interviewed six. The two finalists are:
- Kathleen Alward Smith, former Brockton Public Schools superintendent and Salem Public Schools interim superintendent.
- Claudia Bach, former Andover superintendent and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education director of education policy, preparation and leadership.
The School Committee will interview the two candidates at a public meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday. The meeting will be streamed live on AndoverTV and Andover public access television (Comcast channel 99 and Verizon channel 43).

The search process is also underway for a permanent superintendent, who the committee hopes to hire to begin in July, 2021.
