All residents must return the town census or risk removal from the voter rolls per State law. Non-registered voters are also required to return the town census. This information is commonly used to verify a person’s residency for public school admittance, military benefits, and in-state tuition reductions.
Anyone who is leaving town for an extended period of time and at risk for not receiving the census in January should contact the Town Clerk's office at (978) 623-8230. Please be advised that residents cannot register to vote using the census form. To check registration status, and to find information on how to register to vote, residents may visit the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website at www.sec.state.ma.us/ele. Residents may register to vote online by visiting www.RegisterToVoteMA.com. To register online, residents only need a driver’s license or an I.D. issued by the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
