ANDOVER, MA —The Andover Department of Public Works (DPW) has announced that a water main shutdown is scheduled for Monday night through early Tuesday morning on Essex Street.

According to the town, the shutdown is part of the water main work being performed by a contractor at Elm Square.

From 10 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday, the water will be shut down to the addresses 10 through 43 Essex Street, the Andover DPW said.

Authorities said construction in the Elm Square area is scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.

"The construction may cause some adjustments in driving patterns; there may be detours and delays," the Andover DPW said in a statement. "Emergency vehicles will not be prevented from responding to their calls."
