Andover's Shawsheen Lunceonette Sets Grand Reopening Date
The popular breakfast and lunch spot in Andover has been closed since longtime owners Brian and Amy Guay retired in August.

ANDOVER, MA — Shawsheen Luncheonette, which has been closed since longtime owners Brian and Amy Guay retired in August, has set a Dec. 1 date for its grand re-opening.
Restaurateur Peter Ahn, of Andover, purchased the restaurant from the couple, who originally said they would close the business when they retired. Ahn owns two Bonchon Chicken franchises and said he has always dreamed of owning a breakfast joint like the Luncheonette.
"Bryan and Amy did it for 32 years and I'm looking to continue that tradition," Ahn said in September, when he was finalizing a purchase agreement with the Guays. "It's an institution."

The Guays said in Aug. that the restaurant would close for good with their retirements. The couple previously attempted to hand off the breakfast restaurant in 2019, but the would-be buyers backed out due to the expected cost of bringing the restaurant up to code. The town Health Department worked with Ahn, who originally planned to re-open the restaurant in October, to meet those requirements.
