'A Great Nurse' Who 'Always Has A Smile': Andover Patch Hero
Andover resident Alyssa Jackson is an intensive care nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital.
ANDOVER, MA — The coronavirus outbreak has made the already-crucial work of healthcare providers even more difficult — and risky. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Is the nominee considered an “essential worker”?
Yes
What does the nominee do for work?
ICU nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital
Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
She’s not only a great nurse in a highly acute and diversified Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care unit at MGH, but during this crisis she’s had to switch roles (as many have) and float to other ICUs to work in medical ICUs with COVID patients.
These patients are very sick, time consuming and a mental strain, to say the least. Alyssa is a mom of two — and she just returned to work after her maternity leave in time to jump right into the COViD crisis!
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
She always has a smile on her face, for her patients and coworkers. She is a pleasure to work with.
Thank you for all you do, Alyssa!
