Man Shot Himself in West Middle School Lot

A man shot himself Tuesday in the parking lot of West Middle School, police said.

Andover Police responded to a report of a 59-year-old male suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at about noon. The man, from Lawrence, is not affiliated with West Middle School, police said.

The man was rushed to Lawrence General Hospital and Medflighted to Mass General Hospital in Boston.

This incident is currently under investigation by a team of detectives from Andover Police and Massachusetts State Police.
