POLL: Is Building a Fire Station at South School Unsafe?

This week we're asking readers whether they think it would be safe to put a fire station next to the South Elementary School

The town has been holding multiple public forums and meetings regarding the relocation of the , which has many structural issues and cannot serve the town anymore. The task force leading the charge has studied the issue extensively and feels that moving the satallite fire station to the ball fields at the corner of Andover Street and Woburn Street (next to South Elementary School) is the best decision on all fronts.

Town and safety officials have said that, historically, schools with fire stations next door do not see safety problems on a whole. However, many abutters disagree.
