Spring Tennis Smash this Sunday at AHS

The Friends of Andover Tennis are raising funds to pay for renovations on the Andover High School tennis courts.

This was provided by the Friends of Andover Tennis.

The Friends of Andover Tennis (FOAT) have raised over $27,000 of their $125,000 target, with the goal of matching this sum to reach the $250,000 it will cost to renovate the Andover High School tennis courts in 2013. The Friends wish to express their deep gratitude to several generous individual contributors, and to The Waldo Trust, and to Pfizer, Inc. and Eisai, Inc. of Andover for magnanimous large donations.

FOAT is holding its Spring Tennis Smash at the AHS courts on Sunday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (rain date Sunday, May 6) This all-day community event will feature a morning youth clinic (ages 5-15) hosted by local pros together with the AHS players and coaches; noontime snacks, beverages, and party favors; and an afternoon round robin between mixed teams of adults and AHS players, with awards to the winner and runner-up.

Raffle drawings throughout the day will yield excellent prizes, including Club seat tickets to the May 14 Red Sox game. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about the renovation project and to meet AHS team-members and coaches, local pros, aspiring younger players, and friends. Non-players are very welcome. A $30 per adult player ($20 per youth player) tax-deductible donation is requested for registration either by check or through the FOAT website.

Details of scheduling and registration are available on the Friends of Andover Tennis website, www.friendsofandovertennis.org. Tax deductible contributions are always deeply appreciated, and can be made either by a check to “Friends of Andover Tennis Fund / ECCF” mailed to Essex County Community Foundation, 175 Andover Street, Suite 101, Danvers, MA 01923; or by credit card through FOAT’s webpage link to the ECCF secure site and drop-down menu of sponsored funds. ECCF is a charitable 501 (c) (3) organization.
