Three Arrested Over the Weekend

Friday, March 9

At 2:56 a.m. a caller reported that his house was just broken into on Salem Street. He reported that a window was broken and the house was "ransacked."

At 10:04 a.m. a caller reported a two-car motor vehicle accident on Stevens Street. No injuries were reported.

At 1:22 p.m. a caller reported that it appears his neighbor's mailbox was hit by a vehicle on Greenwood Road.

At 3:29 p.m. a caller reported illegal dumping on River Street. She reported that someone dumped landscaping debris on her property.

At 5:23 p.m. a caller reported a house break-in on Jenkins Road.

Saturday, March 10

At 2:04 a.m. police arrested John J. Leahey, 25, of 20 Post Office Ave., Apt. 4, on Post Office Avenue. Leahey was charged with assault and battery on a household member and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. 

At 10:30 a.m. a caller reported a three-car crash on Lowell Street. No injuries were reported.

At 12:28 p.m. a resident reported harassment on Upland Road.

At 1:49 p.m. a visitor to the station reported that her car was vandalized on Haverhill Street.

At 8:13 p.m. Railroad Street business reported a patron trying to pass a counterfeit $100 bill.

Sunday, March 11

At 11:35 a.m. police arrested Angel G. Torres, 30, 191 Phillip St., Apt. 2, Methuen, on North Main Street. Torres was charged with no inspection sticker and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, subsequent offense. 

At 1:24 p.m. police arrested Thomas L. Berube, 23, 8 Dracut St., Lawrence, on Union Street. Berube was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, attaching wrong plates to a motor vehicle, an uninsured motor vehicle, and an unregistered motor vehicle.

At 4:05 p.m. a caller reported a two-car crash on Lowell Street. No personal injury was reported.
