Town Declares Phase Two Water Restrictions in Effect
Hot weather means water restrictions.

The Town of Andover posted new information on water restrictions in town:
Andover remains in Phase 2 (Warning) of our Drought Management Plan. Water conservation restrictions for our top 25 users continue, as do the voluntary water conservation of all customers. We have not entered Phase 3 of our drought plan although we continue to monitor water demand and levels in our reservoir and storage tanks as we are concerned about that possibility in the future. Thank you for your continued efforts to reduce water consumption.
Our Drought Management Plan includes the following 4 Phases:

Phase 1, Watch – Initiate public awareness, Encourage voluntary conservation by largest water users, Restrict outdoor water use by municipality.
Phase 2, Warning – Continue public awareness, Encourage voluntary conservation by all users, Mandatory conservation by largest water users.

Phase 3, Emergency – Mandatory restrictions with By-Law in effect.
Phase 4, Critical – Maximum mandatory restrictions.
The Town of Andover continuously monitors the water demand and the levels in our water storage tanks and reservoir to ensure that we provide high water quality and fire protection.
On July 8, 2016, the Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Matthew Beaton, issued a Drought Watch for our region. The advisory asks all public water suppliers (including the Town of Andover) to review outdoor water use and implement restrictions of outdoor water use where necessary.
