Arlington Cops Nab Alleged Heroin Dealer
Michael J. Bowler has been charged with heroin distribution and dealing drugs in a school zone.

A heroin dealer has been removed from Arlington streets, according to a report from the city’s police department.
Authorities say 48-year-old Michael J. Bowler, of Arlington, was arrested Wednesday afternoon, and charged with heroin distribution and dealing drugs in a school zone.
“Heroin addiction is the most significant public health crisis we have faced in a generation,” Police Chief Frederick Ryan said in a statement to the media.

Police say they nabbed Bowler with an undercover drug deal. The transaction took place at a location on Burton Street that is close enough to Ottoson Junior High School to qualify as selling within a school zone.
A search of Bowler’s apartment - which is also on Burton Street - yielded more heroin, cash, plastic baggies, and a measuring scale.

Departments from several other nearby communities assisted Arlington Police in this sting operation.
“I am proud of the inter-agency cooperation and relationships we have forged to help attack this problem head-on. Heroin does not stop at town borders,” said Ryan.
