2 Killed In Multi-vehicle Crash In Watertown
The victims were reportedly returning from a funeral service.
WATERTOWN, MA — Two people were killed as a result of a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon.
Police and other emergency services responded to the scene on the corner of Bigelow Avenue and Mount Auburn Street at approximately 12 p.m. to find a black Lexus SUV and white Tesla sedan with severe damages. The Watertown Police Department said the victims had already succumbed to their severe injuries suffered at the time of their arrival. The roadway was shut down for more than four hours.
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation involving the Watertown Police and the Massachusetts State Police,” the department said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones affected by this tragic incident.”

While police have yet to fully identify anyone involved in the crash, the victims were a woman and her nephew who had just departed from funeral services of their 89-year-old aunt at a nearby cemetery, according to a report from NBC 10 Boston.
They were believed to be on their way back to Armenian Memorial Church at 32 Bigelow Ave.
