Arlington Police Provide Resources For Mental Health Awareness Month
Arlington police officers respond to mental health emergencies frequently, said the department.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Arlington Police Department has joined the national movement to raise awareness about Mental Health Awareness Month in May, providing information about their efforts to to assist residents with mental health concerns and the mental health resources available to community members.
Arlington police officers respond to mental health emergencies frequently, said the department. As a part of the department’s Jail Diversion Program, Clinician Christina Valeri often co-responds alongside officers to provide mental health support, resources, and emergency assistance to Arlington residents.
To continue efforts to assist Arlington residents with mental health and substance use concerns, the Town of Arlington hired Recovery Coach Thomas Caccavaro in April. Caccavaro is available to help residents with any concerns relating to substance use disorder, recovery and addiction.

The Arlington Police Department offers a variety of resources and services to the residents of Arlington. Updated mental health resources such as bereavement, rehabilitation, and behavioral health resources are available here. These resources are available to adults and children.
