Community Safety Building Enters Final Stages of Renovations

Beginning this week, the last phase of the renovation of the building known as the Community Safety Building will commence.

Beginning today, the Town of Arlington will start on the final stage of the renovations to the building known as the Community Safety Building.

The renovations have reconfigured the building in order to better accommodate the Arlington Police Department and to provide enhanced safety and efficiency for officers, personnel, detainees and visitors, according to the Town of Arlington. Upon completion, the Community Safety Building interior will have received all new finishes, new fire protection and fire alarm systems, as well as high efficiency plumbing fixtures, lighting and HVAC equipment.

The Arlington Fire Department Administration will be relocated to the newly renovated Fire Department Headquarters at the Central Fire Station. The final move is scheduled for mid-July, the town said. Included in the renovations to the Central Fire Station are all-glass garage doors replacing conventional solid steel doors and restoration of the exterior facades to their original appearance.
