Election 2020: Arlington Primary Voting Guide
Everything you need to know about early voting, mail-in voting and in-person voting for the Massachusetts state primary on Sept. 1.

ARLINGTON, MA — The Massachusetts state primary is Tuesday, Sept. 1, but the election will be much different this year, thanks to the coronavirus. This year voters have the option of voting in-person on election day, as well as early voting and mail-in voting options.
The last day to register to vote for the Sept. 1 primary election was Saturday, Aug. 22. You can check your voting status on the Secretary of State's Website. You can also use the Website to find your polling place. If you missed the deadline to register to vote, make sure you register for future elections.
Mail-In Voting
At the beginning of August, the Clerk’s Office began to mail out ballots to fulfill those requests and continue to process new requests as they come in. This is a manual process and the Clerk’s Office is making every effort to ensure an accurate, and safe, election.

The town says it has corrected the issue with wrong ballots being mailed. However, some incorrect ballots may still be in the mail. Residents are asked to double-check their ballot when you received to ensure that it is accurate. Read details here.
Ballots may be mailed to the Clerk's Office or dropped off in one of the three secure ballot return boxes. Before you put a ballot in a box, please be sure it is clearly marked for ballots:

Can I Check to See if My Ballot Has Been Mailed?
Yes. You will be able to see the date that we mailed the ballot to you and then the date we receive your completed ballot using the Secretary of State's website tool Track My Ballot. Please allow five business days for your mailed ballot to show up in the state system. Please do not delay in requesting your ballot and promptly signing and returning it. If you do not see your ballot on Sept. 1, you may go to the polls and vote. Only one vote will be tallied. The deadline to submit a ballot application was Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Early Voting
You can vote in person at Town Hall (all precincts) in advance of the election at these times. For everyone's safety, voters are asked to wear a face covering, social distance (stay 6' away) from others, and use the hand sanitizer available at the entrance. Masks will be provided if requested.
Remaining Dates:
August 27: 8AM-7PM
August 28: 8AM-12PM
In-Person Voting
Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 1.
