WEATHER UPDATE: Possible Stormy Weather in Arlington This Week

After a weekend of sunshine, more rain may be making its way back to the region this week, weather forecasters say.
Monday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 82 during the day and mostly cloudy at night, according to the National Weather Service. However, Tuesday brings a chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible in the afternoon. There is the possibility of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday night, as well, with patchy fog after 1 a.m., the NWS said
The chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected to continue through Wednesday. Weather forecasters are expecting a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday, dropping to 30 percent on Wednesday night, some of which could produce heavy rain.

Here’s your forecast for Arlington from the National Weather Service:
- Tuesday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 80. Southeast wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10 p.m. Patchy fog after 10 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
- Wednesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog before 3 a.m., then patchy fog after 5 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
